Playlist du jour and one big question

1. Good listens in rotation.
  • The Bronx - Heart Attack American
  • Future Sound of London - Papua New Guinea (High Contrast Mix)
  • Alan Braxe - At Night
  • Cut Copy - Zap Zap
  • Stereolab - Percolator
  • TV on the Radio - Wolf Like Me
  • Curtis Mayfield - Move On Up
  • Cannibal Ox - Atom
  • Ugly Casanova - Things I Don't Remember
  • Tom Waits - Alice
  • Palace Music - New Partner
  • Thievery Corporation - Exploration
  • Sufjan Stevens - For the Widows in Paradise, for the Fatherless in Ypsilanti
  • Brian Eno - An Ending (Ascent)

2. Back at the gym, and want to gain weight. Caro thought hearing about my attempts to become a fatty would be hilarious, but I don't even know where to begin. Somehow even though half of America seems to have mastered the technique, I have to ask, how do you gain weight? Seriously.

This is why I hated going to Chipotle with you - I would wolf down a 3 lb burrito in the amount of time that you would announce that you were full from 4 half-assed nibbles. You have to actually eat multiple times in one day. Come back and show me what ya got. I'll still house you at Chipotle but maybe it won't be as embarassing.

ok rmx. if you want to gain weight the first thing you gotta do is quit listening to skinny white boy music. your new rotation needs to include, but should not be limited to:

three 6 mafia - dope boy fresh
cadillac don - peanut butter and jelly
dem franchize boys - i think they like me
pitbull - toma
devin the dude - see what i can pull (preferably chopped and screwed)
petey pablo - freek-a-leek

the key is that these songs will not only make you FEEL fat, they will also make you think of hot fat chicks, or "dimes" if you will. this new rotation will also increase your appetite because of explosive levels of testosterone resulting from uber-masculine lyrics and phatty beats.

let me know how it goes.

ps - my friendship with your broseph is blossoming. we've found the ven diagram of our 'scenes'

now you're talking my language....playlist du jour and gaining weight? if you posted this any earlier i would have been talking on this blog forever...damn you....how much new music are you getting? a lot of my new playlists have been using the new cds that i've gotten, at some point i'll email you the cd's you might want to pick up...

as for the weight thing, i'm sure i told you this story before, but i tried to gain weight for years in college....so all i did was eat meat and go to the gym....alas! i lost weight, pretty much i was on the atkins diet....great

my expert advice, eat so much potatoes, rice and bread...really just one serving, a really big serving per meal....i've gained 10 pounds, no joke...hope all is well...

I never thought I'd live to see the die. Your previous hatred (ahem) of obese people has transformed into outright jealousy! I could probably show you a thing or two, as I fluctuate about 20-25 pounds per year. Right now I'm on the heavy side, and the key to it is eating late in the day (right before you go to bed).

Also, in reference to your previous post, it might be easier to see a donkey eating a waffle than to see a baby donkey. Funny how these things happen.

John,
Please visit this website and look at my pictures. Especially, take a look at the third picture of the album where Caroline is being hugged by a man holding a wad of $10,000 cash.....This is the way we live.....

twinkies john, twinkies. you've joked about these delectable spongecake treats with me for the past year. they will be the key to your weight gain success. i am sure there is a third world equivalent to these hostess cakes seeing as they supposedly have a shelf life of 5o years. well, in all actually 25 days, but still. best of luck.

John,
I thought you woud appreciate this comment.

Caroline, sitting next to Sam and I while gossiping about our lives..."You know what guys. My life is like Groundhog Day. Everyday is the same. Except, instead of Groundhog Day, it's 911."

I feel like the folks in Mauritana probably feel the same way.
