John, I read the BBC article ab about the slavery and cholera. Sobering thoughts, indeed. As for the homefront, our whole family is thrilled that Santorum was sacked and that the Dems are in the majority. Just worried who the Dems will nominate as the presidential candidate - after Gore and Kerry, we need someone who has charisma, political willpower, and ethics.

Personally, I like the name Walid for your gecko. I knew a Lebanese student named Walid Zuwiyya and somehow, the name works for me.
